First Day of Autumn
Today is the first official day of Autumn! I love this time of the year, the colors, smells and cool weather are very comforting.
The only downside is the fact that I caught a bad cold last week so I have to hide under the covers until I feel better and can't enjoy the lovely weather as much as I would like too!

Peace
You know that old saying "Stop and smell the roses,"
Well there is a lot of wisdom in that phrase. In life we get so busy with family, work, church, hobbies and other activities that we often miss the little things that make life special. The worse part is we know that our lives are too hectic and we do nothing to slow down. Take a moment today and find something little to appreciate.

Periwinkle
These tiny little flowers looked a bit more purple in person. I thought they were super cute!

Queen Angelfish
Whenever I photograph bugs, fish or plants I try to research the name of the species or type, sometimes I end up typing the craziest things into my internet search bar. For this Queen Angelfish I had typed in "Yellow fish with blue" and searched until I found a photo of similar looking fish that actually was named!

Summer
Summer will be over soon but I am far from sad. I prefer the cooler autumn months personally. We had a beautiful summer though. Not too hot for most of the days. I enjoyed that.

Flowers and Insects

The flower above was found near our apartment, I was trying to photograph the flower when the bumblebee flew by. I have a healthy respect for bees so I was a little nervous to try to get in any closer, but the photo turned out beautiful!

This little guy was probably only about 2-3" in length. He gave me a very hard time! Finally at one point he had hopped onto a dog leash and I was able to lift the dog leash and get the little guy into frame.

After a bad rainstorm I had gone over my mother-in-laws house in hopes of seeing a butterfly on her butterfly-bush. After waiting almost an hour this was the only butterfly that ever showed up.

Roses

This is a fully bloomed knock-out Rosebush by my apartments. These bushes have bloomed all summer long
